Applications are invited for a Lecturer in International Relations in the Department of Politics & International Relations, within the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences, joining a growing, ambitious and collaborative Politics and International Relations community that produces excellent, outward-facing research with real-world impact.

This role will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate modules, either as a module leader or as part of a teaching team. The post holder is expected to contribute to the Department's research programme. They are also expected to participate in academic life through management and administration, contribute to our existing module portfolio, complement our existing research themes in political science and have the potential to collaborate with colleagues, particularly in the areas of:

- International Relations
- International organisation
- Geopolitics, technology, sustainability in global affairs
- Migration, human rights, international political economy

This post is a permanent position within Politics and International Relations in the School of Social Sciences, reporting to Prof. Theofanis Exadaktylos. The post holder is expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate modules, either as a module coordinator or as part of a teaching team. They are expected to support the research portfolio of the department with publications and research outputs. They are also expected to participate in academic life through management and administration. Support will be provided as a form of induction by the Director of Studies, Programme Directors and the Director of Research.

The post holder is expected to complement our existing research themes and have the potential to collaborate with colleagues and develop their own research agenda in accordance with the research strategy of the department, the School and the University.

The successful candidate will have some experience in undergraduate supervision, university administration, hybrid learning & teaching methods, a demonstrable publication record and research pipeline and will have a PhD in Politics, International Relations or related field. They will contribute to the development of the new Learning & Teaching strategy of Politics and International Relations within the School of Social Sciences and will be expected to work towards higher qualifications within L&T. They will also contribute with their publications, research networks and synergies, and research agendas to the research culture of the department.

Applicants are expected to already have or be close to completion of the PG Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, accredited by the Higher Education Academy, with a view to apply for Fellow Status, and to work to develop the Senior Fellowship and other pedagogical accreditations.

Interviews are planned for mid-November and the successful candidate may be able to start as early as January 2027 or soon thereafter.
